my god, snow phobia is getting out of hand! The amount of salt and brine on the roads for the "dusting" the other day is nuts. They brined the shit out of the roads the week before when they thought we were going to get a dusting.

It's the way it is now, I remember the bus spinning wheels hard in the snow trying to.go up a hill in neighborhood.

HOCO schools are closing 1.5 hours early....yup... 1.5. Looks like I don't teach my second kindergarten class or my first grade classes today.

St. Mary's schools were closed today, and the roads yesterday morning were horrible for that small amount of snow we got, looked like the trucks only dropped salt and didn't plow anything, problem was with the temp so low the salt didn't do anything... Here's to hoping they learned a bit of a lesson and don't rely strictly on salt and chemicals this time because it will just melt it so that it can freeze overnight...

The people making these decisions are in a lose/lose situation.

In this age of liability driven decision making they will always take the most conservative course of action.

couldn't have said it better myself. I decided to close my office early as well - just in case.
