changing frames

sorry about that, here's some pictures.
i have this: pietta brass 44cal

am planning to get this: uberti 36cal hardened case with square trigger guard

can my barrel & cylinder fit into uberti frame?
i just want to have a model 1851 navy 44cal in steel or hardened case with square trigger guard, and eventually getting a kirst konverter with loading gate.

or
conversion cylinder

is it possible?

from some experience the pietta and the uberti are different size frames. my 58 remington repro. are euro arms and pietta when looking at and handling I found that they had 3 different size frame/grips. the small was euro arms then Pietta followed by uberti with the largest. the difference is small but it is there. You might want to do some very careful measurements before attempting.

The front part of the .44 cal. cylinder is larger in diameter. The .44 frame has been machined out to allow for the thicker forward end of the cylinder. The .36 frame is straight, without the relieved forward part that will allow the .44 cylinder to fit. You can't put a .44 cal. cylinder into a .36 cal. frame.

thanks guys, sort of figured if i could get a cal 36 with hardened case then it could only be good for a 38 colt conversion.
