Only a centerfire long gun can be an "assault" long gun or "copycat" long gun. However, a semiautomatic pistol would be a banned assault "copycat" weapon if it has a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds, and this applies to both rimfire and centerfire.

No, there's no distinction on mags. Limit is 20 today to purchase/transfer in MD. If the bill passes it will be 10. So, really the situation for the 25 rounder you're talking about will stay the same.

Edit: I think they kept the exemption for a rimfire tubular magazine like you might have on a Marlin 60.
