Might be a sign, or just something funny for the consecutive thread titles thread. ;)

I don’t own one but have had many come through my shop and have shot a few. People are very pleased with them and the ones I shot worked perfectly with decent triggers also.

I have never owned one but did look at them. I felt that it was a bit clunky. Here are a couple of reviews.

I have one. I love it. Outstanding stock trigger. Absolute steal for the cost.

It's not optic-ready, if you're looking to add a red dot then check out the newer SF Mete. I like the front fiber optic sight, just had to swap out the color rod because I'm colorblind. Magazines used to be scarce but not anymore, stick with the Canik/Mec-Gar and skip the ProMags. It's my carry when I'm out of state, its a nice compromise between a full-size and compact.

    canik a decent gun
I love my Canik Rival. Excellent price and love the trigger. Plus its nice that a holster and extra mag are included. I use it for competitive Steel Challenge and IDPA. Perfect for that stuff I think! PLUS, almost forget, it comes with lots of different mount plate for an optic!

Yes, just came from the range for the first time with my sf. Great so far. Put 400 round through with not 1 error. I would only use 147 grain though. The lighter stuff was a little snappy. Can't wait till my 30 days are up so I can get another one

You should get your designated collector status fixed. Then you can buy as many guns as you want....

I have two canik's, great guns. I have a Rival I use some in IDPA and USPSA. This gun is as good as anything on the market from a performance aspect but it's a lot less expensive. I do think it's a little on the ugly side.

I also have a Mete SF, it's basically a smaller version of the Rival. Also been a great gun.

Some things to know, Canik cuts their chambers for Nato ammo which is typically a little on the short side. You may find you have issues with some ammo chambering. I carry my Mete some so I had it's chamber reamed so it feed my hollow points with no issue. Otherwise I typically load my own ammo so I just load it to fit the gun.

Other thing I've noticed is if you use a longer than stock mag and try to do a slide lock reload the mag can over insert and the slide then hangs on the feed lips. Easy to just pull the mag down my the base pad and the slide will go home. That or just use the proper mags for the gun, or don't do slide lock reloads.

I've been shooting my Rival for about 4 months, including almost daily dryfire, weekly live fire and about 10 matches. Probably getting close to 2k rounds and I haven't cleaned it yet. I'm thinking I might clean it next spring before the season gets going.

I believe the case for the reaming the barrel was simply short chambered to begin with. The ammunition and chamber dimensions are the same. Bullet ogives, pressures, etc. (individual manufacturers may put their own spin on the specs) may differ but the chamber and case dimesions are the same.
