This is about the most chicken shit thing California has done to date to their law abiding citizen/subjects. Seriously, I wouldn't even bother to try comply with any of this crap going on in CA and NY, because it's so unconstitutional and so completely convoluted that even if you thought you understood the rules, you probably were breaking them anyway.
It makes me really pissed off to see the hollywood crowd getting special treatment while the serfs are forced to suck it up.

I refuse to comply with any more unconstitutional laws here in CA. I really don't want to go to jail, either :innocent0 . I'm getting papers to ready to sign on the dotted line to list/sell my place and get out of this Communist/Socialist hell-hole. Yup, the weather is nice, but if I have to choose between that and my Constitutional Rights, I'll choose the latter, thank you very much.

In 6 months, my sons will be out of college and on there way in life. With few other ties, there is little to keep me here. I've been planning this for awhile and have been waiting for the camel's back to finally break. If Gov. Brown signs this piece of clearly unconstitutional legislation or others (Mag confiscation to name one), I'm gone...

    **UPDATE**

We've defeated 2 bills so far.

SB53: Ammo permits and ban on online ammo sales

SB396: Bans and confiscates legally owned standard capacity mags and rebuild kits, and bans future sales of rebuild kits.

    Still up in the air
SB374: is the "Assault Weapon" ban. After it was amended and passed in the assembly, it has to go back to the senate. It's in the senate now and they have about 5 hours left to pass it and send it to Jerry Brown. Some inside sources believe that some of the Senators are having cold feet after the Colorado recalls or Chicago registry overturn. Others think that something in the amended bill is calling it into question. One of our lobbyists thinks that there is a chance that they don't have the votes for it anymore.

Thankfully, I just got out of the Navy last week. I have enough cash saved to go a year without a job, have no wife, and no kids. Time to start looking for work in America. I liked being stationed in the Puget Sound area, might start looking there.

I'm from the Puget Sound area and my family has lived there for a 100 years. I hope the folks out there never have to go through what you guys are going through in CA....

I heard that the 10 round mag limit was defeated too?

10rd mags are already law. The bill that was defeated included banning magazine bodies that appear to hold more than 10 rounds. Like 30 round mags that are blocked to only hold 10. It also would have banned and confiscated pre-ban standard capacity magazines that were granfathered in to the last ban.

Well yeah that's what I meant. I knew cal banned standard capacity magazines.

Speculation right now is that with SB396 going down, having 1 million un neutered "assault weapons" (Because once they are registered assault weapons, there is no legal requirement to have a tool to release the magazine) on the streets, as well as grandfathered 30rd magazines is causing an issue.

Well, SB374, the "Assault Weapons" ban passes. On to the Governor.

The scumbag Senator Steinberg based his entire argument on lies to get it to pass. He said that the rifles we have in CA with our neutered magazines and bullet buttons are capable of "firing 200 rounds at once", and "Do law abiding citizens need detachable magazines?... This is common sense!".

If Governor Brown signs this bill into law, here is one of the workarounds designed by one of our forum members, that will allow AR-15's and AR-10's/LR308's to still be sold in state while the legal challenges are prepared.

The most forceful speaker against the bill was Senator Roderick Wright, a Dem from Los Angeles. He pretty much dared his party to pass it and watch a court overturn it in 20 minutes.
