I will freely admit I have not read all 2895 posts on this thread, but am I understanding correctly that the appeals court has no obligation to issue a ruling by any specific date? Can they procrastinate forever? if yes, how the hell can they get away with that. what happened to a 'fair and speedy trial'?

then again, in light of the heartbreaking Conn incident, might be better to wait and let cooler heads prevail, what the hell do I know.

This isn't a criminal case "fair and speedy" does not apply

They won't be able to stall "forever", but it certainly could be a long time. The longer it goes on the more likely we see a favorable result. They won't just crank out a win for us over a weekend.
That being said the longer it drags on then our odds for getting before SCOTUS this term go down. We need a split to all but guarantee SCOTUS will hear the case but I'm not sure Moore and Kachalsky are considered a split. Kachalsky and a Woolard win would definitely be a split.

    Nothing today

    Better luck next year

Although Michelle Lane V. Eric Holder was affirmed by the CA4, by stating Lane nor the SAF had standing.

I assume that is not a good thing? What was that case challenging? Was that the interstate commerce in arms case?

Ideally, I think we would want the decision in the next week, in time for the GA session... regardless of what the final word is.

Realistically, I still see it being maybe 3 weeks out (but that's just me sticking with a gut feeling).

I have a feeling that the GA is going to deal with it this year one way or the other no matter what the court outcome is. Could be good or bad that way.

I think this'll be the case too. Us having a very limited (even moreso this year) number of reps that support the cause probably won't end well.

Cecil Co. And the entire Eastern Shore need to succeed.
