There's probably a thread like this somewhere but as usual, I'm too lazy to look for it...

I have several originals and I'll start with a couple USGI versions.

    M1D and 1903A4, unfortunately the A4 has a Weaver 330S rather than a 330C

Late 1944 Walther K43, all matching with an original ZF4 scope and mount. Scope matches mount but they don't match rifle

    VERY NICE STUFF Dave!

    I'm game.
I got this for about $525 back in 2013. This is when AIM was selling them. It came with a wartime stock. I did not want to mess up the stock cause I knew I'd shoot this during the year, so I tucked the original stock away and tagged it. Then I took a spare stock that AIM was selling at the time for $20 each. I did it up in red shellac (getting the color was not easy, had to add my own die). The bore is immaculate. Prices on these climbed once AIM ran out.

Sweet! I certainly missed the boat on snipers. So many have tripled in value (or more) over my collecting lifetime. Remember how I thought $850 for a matching No4 MKI*T rig from North Ridge was big money. Now that same rig is valued at $3-4k.

Two I picked up from the Pentagon bulletin board from service members who needed to off load before reassignment. When Clinton took office he had the firearms boards removed. The Happy Times were gone.:mad54:

Melnic, I also have a 91/30 from the first batch Lou got when he was still in Arbutus

KH195, that is way cool! I have some Type 99s and 38s but none with optics...

Mawkie, yep, I got into the game a little late for some of the really neat stuff. But my disposable income at that time was a little different than it is now.

    Great rifles, guys!!!

As I only collect Mosins, I just have examples of PEs, PEMs, and PUs-all of which there are tons of pics of already. Six are non-refurb, the rest have been through various stages of repair.

I bought this from Simpson LTD. some time back. Yesterday, I had the honor of meeting Mr. Simpson at the MAX show, shaking his hand and saying "Thank you". It was the best part of my day!

    Beautiful ....

How much did that set you back for ?

As I'm old and been doing this for decades not much as it was bought well around 20 yrs ago. Let's just say well under $1k. One of the better deals I've had and that's saying something as I rarely pay market prices for anything as I'm a cheap old poop.

Heard on the grapevine that Bob Simpson was gonna be selling copies of his German Training Rifle book at the MAX show. That must have been so cool! How was the show? It's been at least 15 years since I last attended the show in Monroeville PA.

OK. Found this pic I posted in the thread when lou45 bought the fake PE sniper and thought it was real - back in '15. I knew I posted one - somewhere. Just needed to find it.

All three of these are non-refurb Finn captures. I have two Finn captured snipers without the optics...yet. As it will take about $3500-$4000 for the base/mount and optics - for each rifle, it's gonna be awhile to get those completed :o

I have seven or eight straight Russian snipers. I've lost count over the years :D

Yes sir, that's why he was there. He said it was a long drive at his age! The show was, as always, a wonder to behold. BUT, as always, it was a minefield of fakes mixed in with many real items. Fortunately, I no longer have the "fever" so I can look without the overwhelming desire to buy! :D I only bought a couple MP44 magazines and a WWII German Christmas tree ornament but I spent a lot of money! My buddy bought a very nice SG42 bayonet in stone mint condition and spent even more money than I did on just that one item. We had a good time though. You should go again. It's WELL worth the $10 admission fee.
