I appreciate what the guy did but if they were actively fighting not sure a gun is the best choice. He could have hit the officer.
The guy attacking the officer took 4 .45 shots to the torso and a shot from most likely a 9 or .40 to the stomach. After those 5 shots, he continued to fight with and pose a threat to the officer until the civilian shot him in the head. I would imagine that the officer greatly appreciated the civilian with a gun, because from the sound of things nothing else was going to stop that guy.

Does that cancel it out or erase it because it didn't happen yesterday? As far as I can tell it still happened as written and a citizen still potentially saved an officers life by having a gun.
