    This is about 70% of my salt stores. Got a big old mortar and pestle to help render it useable.

    The ingredients are pretty straightforward.

    I’ll admit hauling the blocks was a pita for a minute.

    I added some mineral blocks to habituate whatever game might be around at the time. My truck earned its keep those days.

    Lots of farm boys have eaten chips broken off salt blocks. They give it to million dollar race horses.

    It is easy to crush back to granules.

    It also attracts wild game if you have some to spare. If you have a bug out place establish a salt lick now (put out a salt block). I moved a salt block location and deer were still coming to the old location five years later to paw the ground and get the salt the rain had leached into the soil.

    There is also water softener salt which is safe since you use it to recharge the resin bed that softens the water you drink.
