Black Powder Stole The Show!

Last sat I was at the and bought several rifles with me:

1941 Finnish M39
Yugo 24/47
.50 BP Rifle
.50 BP Pistol (saddly - didn't shoot it)

Interestingly enough it was the BP rifle and pistol that got the most attention!

I normally don't see that many BP guns at the ranges here in the bay area of ca.

I usually offer to load it up and let them shoot it a time or two - trying to get more interested in BP.

Although the folks down wind of me may have had a different opinion when I touched off the BP rifle!

That's sad given the history of the area but then again anything that is loud and makes smoke probably frightens the current residents.

Hey, they need to learn what real shooting is all about. Inhaling toxic vapors, getting hit by sparks and ducking down to see if you hit your target.

This happens to me when I bust out the C&B revolvers at an outdoor range. Especially when I shoot the Duelist.

There's really nothing like firing a big old black powder gun! That reminds me, I recently got a flintlock shotgun I need to take to the range.
