    Best post-ban rifles

To ease the pain for those of us that can't stockpile cool rifles before the ban what are some of the best semi auto rifles we can purchase after October? I figured it safe to talk about this now that the bill is signed. I'm bummed that the tavor won't meet the length requirements and that all the ak varieties are off limits so I'm interested in other options.

It's not a semi but the Marlin 336 30/30 or in other cals. Gets great reviews for a survival/SHTF Rifle Light weight you can scope it easy to maintain In 30/30 The caliber can be found anywhere Get some spare emergency parts and your GTG I would have dismissed the rifle over a semi but was very surprised in what the rifle can do FYI 30/30 has the punch of an AK in 762x39 Take most North American game.with light loads you can hunt small game Think survival not play station.

I remember seeing a pump action AK at a gun show a few years back. I almost picked it up just because it was so unique. Is the AK ban only for semi auto rifles?

Take the gas piston out of a semi auto and its just a bolt action rifle...

So the tavor will still be available! I guess your saying having a muzzle break gives it enough OAL

LOL at the law of unintended consequences... Complying with the law by welding a bayonet on your rifle. :lol2::lol2::lol2: I love it!

Mopar92, where is it listed on the MSP Handgun Roster of any AK or FAL pistols?

    Really, an AR-10 is cool?

    Amazing isn't it?

I'm pretty sure you can get one of these too

As far as I know, these are out of production. Or back at ZM.

    FAL pistols
    AR pistols
    AK pistols
(these must be built not bought)
Strictly speaking, and I know people will hate me for saying this, you're not allowed to build pistols in Maryland that aren't on the roster. Read the handgun roster laws carefully. Unless you're planning on submitting your new pistol to them (and let's not be stupid, you're not), you aren't legally allowed to manufacture it in this state. The law isn't enforced at all right now, but it could be in the future.

Tavor with muzzle brake or bayonet
    SCAR-16 with non folding stock
    SCAR-17 same
You're tossing away a bit of saga here. Guns that require feature/OAL compliance work needed to have that work done out of state - there is no exemption in the law for doing it in-state for sale to in-state residents. To put it bluntly, I would not expect to see many of these for sale.

    Bushmaster ACR
There is in fact a AWB-compliant version with no folding stock.

VEPRs and Saigas depending on FFL.
Relying on bulletin 96-1 after the law was completely changed would be foolhardy, to say the least.

Saving my pennies for an AR-10, but might get a Rem-700 instead.
