I've run acros 2 guys recently at my gun club who shoot the Savage Mark II-BV Accu-Trigger Rifle. It slides in under $300 and they shoot 1/2 inch at 50 yards! I am so impressed I put it on my buy before Christmas wish list!
Check it out, I think you may have found what you are looking for!

No love for a Ruger 77/22 of course u ain't getting one for $300 even if its used.

    Nope. No love.

The day they reduce the price under $300 (instead of that ridiculous $600+), I would pull the trigger in a jiffy.

But at the current price it's just not reasonable.

And IMHO the CZ would still blow it away.

All right Mason, Now I am blaming you, if I hadn't read your thread I wouldn't be thinking about how good I have been lately and how I deserve a new Savage Mark II -BV Accu-trigger. If I don't have one by Mon. I'll be surprised. Saw one online under $300!
Not bad for a tack driving 22LR .

sometimes better than 1/2 inch based on the ammo.
    trigger is smooth as well.

Another vote for a CZ. I have the 513 Basic model and it's all I need in a .22 (plinking, target shooting, small game hunting, general marksmanship).

I've heard that Savage is another great option from an accurate/budget rimfire, but I've never owned one.

I had a Marlin 983S .22WMR: stainless bull barrel, tube-fed, bolt action, good trigger. What an awesome shooter that gun was.

I would consider the 981TS for a .22LR option. Great capacity and I'm sure the new T-900 trigger is sweet (although probably not as sweet as a Savage).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't CZ rifle production farmed out to manufacturers in Turkey or somewhere else?
