Al Pacino with his commander sized 1911. Speed reloads, some aiming, and press checks.

The Way of the Gun.
Benicio Del Toro uses an IWB holster, reloads, accurate round count, press checks, actual cover and bounding techniques etc.

We Were Soldiers
Sam Elliott uses one with great effect vs the NVA and Viet Cong elements. Choosing the 1911 over the AR-15.

Saving Private Ryan
He bloweded up a tank. Thus ending the 9mm vs. .45 debate.

The Wild Bunch.
Use of pistols is secondary to rifles and shotguns but nonetheless they are used to great effect in the ending scene.

This was my thought. Also interesting how in the movie semi-auto pistols aren't really that prominent yet , so his pair is almost like a mini plot point.

Joe Pesci in GOODFELLAS whacks Samuel Jackson with a silenced .45....good movie worth the time watching also. and who could ever forget ".45 long slide ,with lazer sighting"...Arnold S. in Terminator......terminates people with a longslide .45.....

Greatest 1911 scene ever, IMHO. He was trying to blow off one of the tank's tread links - one of the few frontal weaknesses of a Tiger I.
