Let me know how it goes. Since my entire heat pump failed and had to be replaced, my thoughts have been on the bersa thunder (though i can't find any around here) just to have it in the house.
I have had several Bersa's over the years and they are reliable after a break in. Most guns, including my S&W M&P 40 need a break in of some sort. Polishing the feed ramp on many guns hastens the break in and makes for more reliable feeding.
At the price point of the Bersa, don't expect it to come from Performance Center.
As one other poster stated, I too use Buffalo Bore tempered lead ammo for my P3AT which I carry as a backup. A .380 needs all the penetration it can get and IMHO, the velocity is too low to be shooting hollow points as you give up significant penetration.
I have been playing with my pistol for about a week, occasionally seeing if I can load a round from the magazine, and just now, I have had five loads from releasing the slide. I think it just needed a little (and I mean a very little) breaking in. I still haven't had an opportunity to fire it. But This wednesday I am going to be making my way to freestate for certain!
