I am new to the market and I'm just looking for a little Maryland specific guidance. Thanks for any advice.

From what I can see online I would pay the same for a new 92 as I would for a used one (might save $75 or so). Is this correct?

If so…why should I not invest in a new gun vice used?

Beretta firearms do hold their value, however, If you are looking at a used verses new firearm and what you see in the value is not that far apart. I would always suggest the new unless the value of accessories or other with the used firearm is worth the extra money.

My Beretta is my favorite handgun. In your scenario, I'd always pay an extra $75 for new unless it was a rare pistol that I couldn't find.

Go to an IP and I think you'll be pleased by their pricing.

    Thanks guys

Looks like I can't go wrong either way.

    Off topic:
I'm thinking of buying from NOVO Firearms in Virginia based on his recent "failed attempt" to open a new shop in Arlington. The local anti-gun crowd stopped him from opening the shop and he lost a lot of money.

I also really want to support MD shops.

If you buy out of state you will have to transfer it in to a MD dealer.
Most dealers will do a transfer but that will cost you another $20-$40 in shipping from VA dealer to MD. Then the MD Dealer will charge you anywhere from $40 to $75 for the paperwork.

Be sure you are getting a great deal on an out of state purchase.

    This is only for handguns.

Non regulated long guns are fine to buy thru an FFL out of state.

    Good Luck.

Beretta 1951's are available without the evil HQL. A nice used gun. Daddy (granddad?) to the 92.

I'd second that. I've got one of each. The 92F's a great home security gun, but the '51's the coolest gun. Had Fleming issued Bond a '51 (instead of the .25 Beretta 418), Q would've never needed to replace it with the Walther.
