So while up in the very firearm friendly state of Vermont for the holidays I swung into one of my favorite little shops. He has a lot of .22s which I am always drawn toward, but I stopped in this trip to see if he had this little pocket pistol still and he did. Knowing he had had it for awhile I was able to get it for a pretty fair deal (cash of course is always king). So this little Beretta 418 in 25ACP came home with me. Came with two mags and shows almost no wear except the slightest bit on the high points. The 418 was made with an alloy frame so the bluing on it doesn't quite match the slide and is shows shading (how I describe it) which is typical. Here is a link to a great little site for those of you who don't know about history of these pocket pistols... http://www.berettaweb.com/418/Beretta 418.htm So this one was made in 1951 so I had to pull out my Beretta 1935 in 32 ACP also made 1n 1951 and since I had a theme going the Beretta model 1951 came out as well for a family photo. Never thought I'd be into pocket pistols, but I figured it was either this or a little baby browning to help add some depth to the pistol collection.

What a neato little pistol!! I like the 1951 too. I would have loved to have picked one of those up but I didn't have my C&R at the time.

That's an outstanding 418! Think the 418 and other early post war Berettas are undervalued right now, especially such nice, high condition examples like these.
I've got the 418's Grandpa: the Model 1919. Pre-war 318s and 418s have been on my short list but are extremely hard to find. Think most collectors who are fortunate to acquire a nice one don't let 'em go.

I agree... pre war ones in general don't pop up too often and when they do, they almost always look like their prior owner carried them daily.... and used them as a hammer too when convenient.
