    Yeah, objectively I don't consider myself a Ruger fanboy...but the other day I thought about it, I own more Rugers than any other single brand. I guess it's just cause they have a foothold in almost every type of firearm someone could want, like a major cal. semi auto, a major cal. revolver, then everyones got a 10/22, a Ruger Mk series...lots of people have LCPs...a lot of people are now getting their ARs....etc etc.

    My Rugers, so far:
    10/22 (the first gun I ever bought, in 1973 at age 13 & will always have it)
    Super Redhawk, .44 Mag (why not?)
    P94, .40 S&W (it just fit my hand better than other pistols I handled)
    10/22 Takedown (latest Ruger - just had to have one when they came out)

    Think I need a .357 revolver or a Mini-14 soon though... :innocent0

    Just picked up my LCP today. I'm a firm believer that MD shall issue is right around the corner.

    I'm closer to a ruger handgun fanboy. I want another mark iii, a gp-100, security six, gp-101, and definitely a ruger 1911

    I should add, that I didn't clean my Mini-14, beyond an occasional quick brush and lube, for the first 1000rds. No FTFs or other malfunctions, and consistent accuracy. The thing eats any .223 I put in it. Very well made guns, and made here in the U.S. at that.

    I usually do a very basic cleaning on both of my Mini-14's after every range session but I'll go 700 to 100 rounds before I do a full strip down and thorough cleaning/lube.

    I'm a fanboy myself... scarcqb is actually an AC556 machinegun in a sage international stock chassis. It is my favorite assault rifle.

    Ruger can make a good firearm, and I do own/have owned several, the 10/22, SA revolvers, "modern mauser" bolt riffles and mini 14 are great, but I do not like their auto pistols(especially the P-series), or DA revolvers compared to Glock, Sig and Smith. That scout rifle is a sweet boomstick!!! I really like the concept of a compact bolt rifle with a big mag and forward mounted optic, unfortunately they have been overshadowed by semi-autos to a large degree, but are a joy to shoot, and plenty capable in skilled hands.
