Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in but it's classified as a pistol caliber carbine so here goes. I don't know if these are even MD legal but I am intrigued by it nevertheless. It looks to be a cost effective alternative to a CMMG Banshee, and the Youtube videos seem to be universally positive on it. I know from a few years ago Bear Creek was frowned upon, but these appear to be reliable and well built. I realize that a brace is out of the question at the moment, but with an angled fore grip it should be possible to fire this with reasonable accuracy without shouldering it.

This guy does a nice review and there are about a dozen others on Youtube as well...

Since it is a blow back, it is going to jump around more than something like CMMG's gas operated bufferless. The BCA aslo costs a lot less than the CMMG.

I have owned several BCA products and I would suggest giving it a year or so to work the bugs out before buying.

Appear to be reliable and well built because of a video on YouTube?

A friend of mine and I bought a combined 6 ARs in different calibers from BCA. 3 of them straight junk. To the point some would not function after the first shot. Gas blocks falling off due to not being tightened. Handguards falling off. The bolt out of spec on one and wouldn't even seat into the barrel. Multiple times sending back and forth back and forth to BCA trying to get them to fix it. Finally said F it give us our money back.

BCA is straight junk. They keep just pumping out "new" stuff but fail to actually do any QA/QC on anything they make.

    Stay away.

It is my understanding that CMMG uses radial delayed blowback (like an MP5). Furthermore, I am unaware of any gas-operated 9mm AR other than the SIG MPX (gas piston)

Sorry, I forgot it was a 5.56/300 BO platform

Anything BCA is a hard pass. An utter waste of time and money.

CMMG is worth a look. I've heard good things about the delayed blowback system. Haven't seen one in person, though.

After a little googling, apparently the SIG MPX is gas operated. Edited.

I have one in 9mm with a standard lower and Endomags. It's fun to shoot and has not given me a single issue. It's a little less gassy than standard but the recoil isn't that much different than my standard blowback 9mm AR in the same setup with Endomags. Bot are short barreled braceless pistols. I need to dual wield so I can see if there is any real difference in recoil.

I have owned a CMMG Banshee for about three years and it is well worth the money. Much less recoil than the previous blowback PCC's that I owned.

Bear Creek is junk, and bufferless blowback is hard to do well, so hard pass IMO. There are others like FM products that have better designs, but really delayed blowback is almost a requirement to make bufferless AR9s practical, being there isn't much room for sufficient weight and cushioning without a buffer tube. The upcoming CMMG bufferless RDB is pretty cool, but stupid expensive

My first AR was a BCA because it was cheap, and I wanted to see if I liked ARs, so I didn't want to spend a ton of dough, as well as it being just before 2016 when Hillary was about to become president. It was a 7.62x39 rifle, and it had the usual issues with hard primered Russian ammo, which I resolved. It was a decent, cheap rifle. I ended up putting a Hbar 5.56 upper on it and selling it. I still have the 7.62x39 upper though. Then I bought a .22lr BCA upper and it was a piece of sh*t. It had all sorts of issues, FTF, FTE, FTF, etc. Ended up that there was an unsupported area of the case, and it was blowing the sides of .22 rounds out, and ended up blowing my extractor off if I recall. Sent it back for a refund, but they sent me a replacement, which I got rid of. BCA also sells .410 AR rifles now, which I briefly considered, but the ammo is so expensive and hard to find I didn't think it was worth it for fun/range shooting. I, myself, wouldn't buy a 9mm BCA blowback gun, but that's just me.

    Thanks for the info.

I'm going to take a look at the PSA AKV, my SIL has one and it's really nice.
