I ride my horse a lot at the trails in Bear Branch / Carroll County, MD. I have a Maryland Wear and Carry Permit but still do not know if I am legal to carry in the Bear Branch trail system in Caroll County. Can anyone direct me to where I can find the answer.

Is that Hashawah Environmental center & Bear Valley Nature Preserve ? 320 ac , and 5 miles of multi use trails , owned by Carroll Co Government ? Or is there a different trail network of the same name nearby .

If the former , that would be No Carry Zone , for being a Park .

No carry in Carroll County owned parks.

    Section 94.053 in link below:

I’ve written my Commissioner asking them to revisit this prohibition, but never heard back

I don’t appreciate how Carroll of all places has “gun free” zones on all county “parks”. This was an issue a few years ago when someone pointed out that Hap Baker is in fact part of the Carroll County Parks Department, so they had to make a minor revision to exempt Hap Baker.

If we get a good court ruling on “sensitive places” it’d probably be worthwhile to sue the County to force them to change the law.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks for the response. It's a shame, especially in Carroll County.
