My wife and I have talked to employees at both Quarterfield and Columbia who told us the employees get first dibs. One acted like it would selfish and unreasonable to believe it should be any other way, calling it a "perk". Considering the pay I imagine the company provides, I'm not sure how to feel about that.

Was that the overage hippy guy who needs a hair cut? He seems to get his back up from time to time. Hard to say if he was joking or not.

I'm sure these guys don't make much and really don't have a lot of money to burn on ammo (unless it's a par time job for them), but I am willing to bet that most of the employees that are buying ammo are doing it for friends.

I have been at Quarterfield several times when other employees come up to the counter asking these guys if they had anything they were holding for them. So its not just the employees at the ammo counter they are holding ammo for.

That is a complete 180 from actual corporate policy. Holding any merch back from going on the floor is a punishable up to termination. Associates can only buy what's on the floor and only when they're off the clock. Run your complaint up the chain with the managers at the store and/or online/phone with corporate. When in doubt have them scan the bar code on the rack, if it says it's in stock, I would love to hear the reason they come up with as to why they can't sell it to you....

And employees ALWAYS follow the rules? Lol. Good advice nonetheless; indeed, playing the, "I call BS" card works sometimes, unless in-store management is looking the otherway.

Remember folks, if there is a will, there most certainly is a way..

I heard the Basspro line for black friday 22LR was 2hrs long in the first hour. How long did it take to sell out and did the long lines stay that way till it was gone?

    Affordable 9mm is also scarce.
Speaking of 9mm, Walmart at Arundle Mills had 1200 rounds in an ammo case for $500
It said "ZQ made in Turkey". I have no idea if this is brass, steel or what.
the price is a bit hefty though.
There was some Tulammo 223/556 there, other 223/556, No 7.62x39, Some $23/50 9mm defensive ammo.

Just came from the Arbutus Walmart where they had at least six military ammo boxes. I could only see the label of one box which had 720rds of 5.56 for $457.00. Two other boxes were marked at $497.00 but not sure if they were miss marked or a different caliber.

There was also plenty of .223 20rd boxes, some .40, 30-30. Plenty of .17, a box of 30-06 Springfield and I believe some .45.

I saw those ammo cans of 9mm and 5.56 at Walmart and got excited until I saw the price.

I did come across Tula Brassmax 9mm tubes that contain 100 rounds for $23. I bought some last night and went back and got more this morning. They also had .223 value packs (50rds), .45 value packs (100rds) and some other miscellaneous stuff that's been sitting there awhile.

Edit: At the Abingdon and Fallston Walmarts
