This is a case of "you'll know it when you see it".

Gun shop is going to be spending serious coin to appeal. Gun control folks are going to have a field day with this.

The officers involved will never get a dime.

Where is their insurance company? Won't they be the ones actually spending the money?

Once again lets go after the dealership that sells a car to someone who lets a non licensed driver do something wrong with it instead of dealing with the criminal who used said car to commit the crime.

Sue the liquor store who sold the bottle of booze to the guy who gave it to the kid who got drunked up and beat his mom.

That is a big source of liability to liquor stores and bars. Some states like CT have a specific 'dram shop law' that governs this liability.

Yeah, better that we not have personal responsibility. It keeps with the "victim" mentality that liberals like to foster for government dependence.

The damning evidence in this case was the prohibited individual pointing out to the Straw buyer what gun he wanted, in front of the sales clerk, on video. The prohibited individual was also explaining to the Straw Buyer what to write on the forms, again, on video in front of the clerk.

For the two period 2007-2009, six Milwaukee cops were shot with guns sold by Badger. According to the ATF, 537 guns sold by Badger were recovered from crime scenes nationwide in 2005 alone.

Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

scum shop, scum owners, this will have no impact on a legal sale from a dealer that isn't breaking the law other than media scrutiny, which will continue until there is a new shiny ball, so next week.

So, why was this a civil suit instead of the ATF (doing their G_D_ job) taking the FFL to criminal court?

Too busy finding new sorts of guns and ammo to arbitrarily ban for import I guess.

Because frankly, if this dealer really is even half as bad as these articles say, forget suing - they need to be in jail.

It appears there is plenty of proof that at least the clerk knew he was circumventing the law. Whether or not the owners are culpable, I don't know.

In any case, just because these few people broke the law does not give the antis a good argument for making firearms retailers and manufacturers liable for the misuse of their products.

However, they will try to frame it so.

So, let's just file suits against all the auto manufacturers every time someone unlawfully causes a death in a car crash.

'Respondeat superior'. If an employee forks up, the employer is liable.

Based on their long standing history of catering to the criminal crowd in Milwaukee, what happened there was the norm, not the exception.

and don't forget about the part when the "buyer" checked the box saying it was a straw purchase and the clerk had him change it.
