I know ammo prices can range drastically based on brand, bulk and who you get it from. My next firearm purchase is going to be a Rem 700 SPS Tac in .308. I'm trying to gauge what it's going to cost me to buy ammo from a B&M retailer. I'm not looking for any of the fancier ammo. Just the stuff I can use to sight in my rifle and break it in. American Eagle, Rem UMC, Win, etc.

What can I expect the average price to be? And, what's considered a "GOOD" price? So far, my research shows me somewhere in the $0.75 to $1 per round.

Wally World usually has Remington Corelokt 150 grain for about $18-20 per box. You won't get the accuracy you want using that ammo though. FGGM 168 grain will run you anywhere from $22 at CTD to $28 at some stores locally. Remember, save your brass for reloading.
