Get a Designated Collector's approval and take the worry away NOW if you plan to make multiple purchases between now and October 1.

You will receive the approval faster than any single purchase clears.

Is there the standard rectal exam like nfa purchases? Do I need a fed c&r to do this? Etc etc.. im sure someone has a good thread they can send me to as a good reference

Print it out, fill it in, get it notarized and mail it. You should get a response in about 4 weeks. There's a thread following this topic here:

Whats eta on results? Same as a regulated purchase? I can have a pending purchase while applying foe this correct? And I am still not sure on wait times between buys (for non collectors) I have seen a thread on here that had stated just go get one every 31 days and youll be fine..but the statement posted earlier on this thread makes it seem like you would have to wait 31 days after your approval (making it almost 4 months between buys)

Check the Designated collector threads.
1. seems like most are getting approval letters in 6-7 weeks, so much less of a wait than for a regulated purchase.
2. Yes, you can have pending 77r's and still apply for DC
3. According to knowledgeable persons, it is up to the FFL not to release more than one per month*. He can be holding more than one for you. This is assuming he will hold them and has room to hold them. So it seems you can have several 77r's pending. *under some circumstances you can get two regulated FA's but you have to wait 60 days for the next. But by them you should have your DC approval.
At the rate MSP is clearing 77r's, and the number they are getting (2500/week) someone figured they are clearing 2 days worth of apps every week. So unless this lawsuit forces a faster clearance, or gives the FFL's enough freedom from liability, It is unlikely that if you submit (or have submitted) a 77r for a regulated FA every 31 days, you will get not disapproved less than 30 days apart.
