Curious if any members (current or previous) can give their opinion on this range and its membership, etc. I've always gone to Guntry, which is fine, but I'd prefer an outdoor range and this one is extremely close to my home. Thanks!

It's the best range in Central Maryland.

If you're an MSI member, you're already eligible to buy a range badge, which gives you full access to all facilities 364 days a year. Shoot all day and never have to wait for a position. It's extremely close to your house. What the hell are you asking about? Join!

Stay away from that place. It's a cult. They practice mind control and harvest your organs.

I belonged to the AGC for about 8 years. It's a great facility; 200 yard range. 100 yard range, 50 yard pistol range. indoor pellet range, trap fields and action shooting bays.. Other than range closures, which are rare, I've never had to wait for a spot to shoot when I went there. I'm not sure what the range badge costs now but if you shoot fairly often you'll get your money's worth for sure.

I agree. After 30 years as a member, it was hard not to stop shooting every half hour.

About the only downside I find there is the mud. I'm not a fan of carrying targets down to the 100 yard line and slogging through it.

Most ranges I’ve been to will have that problem during rainy season. I don’t really care though. There’s so much grass you don’t really sink. I used to belong there but moved to TCSC for the 300 yrd range but I’ll be back this year.

Great range. Never had to wait for a lane. Only three things I wish were different,
    1) Wish it went out further than 200 yds
    2) The pistol range berm setup is such that for close up targets (say 10 yards and in) you are shooting slightly upwards so your rounds impact the berm like they are supposed to.
    3) The action shooting bays are not available for individual use, only during a sanctioned match/shoot.
There was talk at one point of having one serio for rimfire only but I’ve not heard anything more about that in over a year.

Was a member there since 1979. Used to love shooting there and it is only 8 min. from my house. Finally got tired of their internal politics and special interest groups not having to follow the same rules as the rest of us. Couple that with their fiscal inaccountability and failure to pay off the original mortgages as was voted on by the board of trustees when the vote to buy those properties. Left there at the end of last year. FYI, range badge is $225 this year and is slated to increase every year. Add club dues and NRA membership required by most clubs and you're looking at approx. $300+ currently. If you shoot highpower, there are match fees on top of that, one match per month will run the total cost to around $500. Simple math says that non-members can shoot the highpower matches for less overall. If you want to join, by all means do so, just stay away from their b.s..

I started shooting there 2 years ago. My biggest regret was not taking the steps to start shooting there earlier because I really enjoy it, and I feel that I get my money's worth out of it.

I've been a member there since 1998. The cost of club dues and range badge back then was $57. Like dist1646 said, the range badge alone is now $225 and my club dues are $25. One thing I liked was that I could bring guests for free. That changed a few years ago when they began charging $10/guest. I took my daughter and her husband there a few months ago and discovered that guests are now $15 each. Spouses are still free (for now anyway). I paid for this year but don't know how much longer I will be staying there.

$15 Guest fee? I was upset when it was $10. Wow!

OP don't listen to the resident AGC haters, it's a great range. Join MSI for your club which is $25/year then the range badge is $225/year. With MSI you don't need to be an NRA member either.
If you were just going to shoot matches at the action shooting bays and do nothing else then I probably wouldn't join unless you'll shoot more than 15-20 matches a year. (Matches for non members are more expensive, usually $10 more)
I've been a member for over 8 years. Friendly RSOs, no waiting, and several range options depending upon what you like to shoot.

I agree ... no permanent target stands ! I do wish they would consider an indoor small caliber range !

Yup. I took @CaptainAwesome today and it was $15 for a guest.
The (newish) guest fee is my only gripe. IMO, we should get 6 or so guest visits included with the badge each year. Remember the whole guest fee came about because a small handful of members were bringing the same "guests" 20+ times a year.
Other than the guest fees, I love the place- even for $225 a year.

It's funny how many people bitch about the $225/year yet there are several other outdoor ranges that don't have as much and cost more.

Where are you located? Just join Southern Lancaster County Farmers Sportsman Association instead, no RSO's, pretty much never anyone else there shooting if you go during the week, $100 to join, $75 to renew.

Even if you had to drive 2 1/2 hours one way, the fact you can back your vehicle up to and claim your own pistol action pit/bay and or, if someone is shooting on a 100 yard range and you're not feeling people'ly, just walk to the other one that no one is at.

Can bring 3 guest, and the same 3 guest everytime you go

    Apples and oranges.
Just the amount of gas money spent would make that not feasible for most of us. The cost of land, let alone "shootable" land in the Baltimore metro area is way higher than rural Lancaster County.
