I've browsed the site before, but never posted. I'm a forumoholic, and try to limit myself since I'm already on 5 others.
I don't have the gear, but can put the correct owner in contact with the person who does have it.

Possibly, but the guy who has it is very honest, and conciencious. He's making every effort to find the owner, and I'm trying to help out.
He may have even already called the DNR.

Oh I wasn't challenging anybody's character. I meant call DNR in case somebody's made out a report to them.

Most hunters I know rarely lose anything like that....I mean I can't imagine leaving my rifle leaning up against a tree, forgetting where I put it and not telling anybody. Or even worse, the person that owns the gear could've had something bad happen to them and DNR (as well as all the other local agencies) would probably want to know.

I think the case was put on the ground next to the truck(likely after dark), the guy,or gal was getting out of hunting cloths, and maybe even loading up a deer, and just drove off without putting the case in the truck.
No doubt they came back looking for it.
