Ar15 upper

Right now I have a 223 upper on my ar15, I would like to have a 350 l. On it for hunting.

how hard would it be to just swap out the 223 barrel for a 350 l barrel?

would like low profile gas block so it will fit inside the free floating friend, 18 inch barrel and a muzzle break

what all would i actually need to do this change over?

You need to be able to take off the handguard first. Sometimes it is problematic. Then you need to take off the gas block. Depending on your muzzle device you may need to take it off too. Once it is done the .223 barrel is free can be pulled from upper. What length is your existing as tube on .223? If it is the same you can reuse it. Otherwise you will need to get a new gas tube for 350. And for 350 barrel you will need to have another muzzle device, usually 350 and .223 have different threads (and diameter).

Above is right. Reuse lower receiver assembly and buy 350 upper assembly. You can have both 223 and 350.

Just buy a complete upper in .350 Legend. The extra $150-$200 isn't worth all the BS every time you want to change calibers.

I have 2 16” in 5.56 and a 20” in 5.56
i have a 16” 300 black out.
20” 22 long rifle

the 22lr and 20” 5.56 are set up the exact same way and have consecutive serial numbers these two are set up for hunting with scope and bi-pod
one of the 16” is set up for defense
the other 16” is set up for hunting with a2 stock and scope.
the 300 black out is for defence with low power scope.
i also have a 50 bmg upper.

so I can depart with the 16” 5.56 hunter or maybe the 300 B.o. upper for a 350 L deer hunter upper.

the only 350 L. Uppers I can find are very expensive. I can find a 16” 350 L. Barrel for around &
$120-150. I would prefer a 18” but all I see are out of stock.

If you have a vise, upper vise block, torque wrench, etc, or have a friend who can help you out, then it can save you some money just buying the barrel. But if this is going to be the only time your swapping a barrel, I’d sell a .223 upper and pick up a whole new upper. Bear creek has them around $350, plus a few other places i can see have them in the $400-$450 range. If you sell yours for $300-$350 then you’re only out about the cost of the barrel. By the time you buy the tools, barrel, gas tube, flash hider, etc, you’ll spend the same or more as a complete upper.
