So, go to a Maryland FFL and buy a mini 14, cash & carry (with a NICS check) and then spend 5 minutes with a screwdriver and put a folding stock on it and you have just created something that is so evil it will immediately destroy every butterfly and puppy in a 5 mile radius, thereby rendering it so evil that is is BANNED in MD! Five more minutes to put the wood stock back on and it has been returned to the embodiment of truth, justice, and the Maryland way!

Gun restriction laws are truly written by idiots and imbeciles.

Can you really blame them? When you don't know a thing, you have to rely on those you trust to educate you. To the average person, the major media services wouldn't be "major" if they weren't generally reliable. Talk about dangerous bubbles.

What goes with that lack of knowledge is that a lot of people still think buying a gun through a web site is just like buying something from Amazon - no idea of the hoops one must jump through to complete the sale.

That's why, in addition to sex education, we outta require basic firearm knowledge to be a prerequisite to graduating for law-abiding high schoolers.

More and more left wing tree huggers are getting worried about Big Government lists. Watch lists, ban lists, etc. They are starting to equate banning something with loosing freedom and are not supporting them.

Remember, the blacks and gays and socialists were all on lists once. ;)

No offense, but comparisons like this will get other long guns banned too.

Gun owners shouldn't be doing the Left's legwork.

    Let them figure it out.

This. An act of Islamic Terrorism occurred on American soil and the Kenyan, Hillary and the media have made it into a a witch hunt for an inanimate object.

Fock them, when you hear arguments about AR15s ask the speakers if they know a terrorist act was just committed on American soil. Educate them that this is just a side show and distraction and ask them why the Obama, Hillary and the media won't call it what it was, again, but choose to pull some nugget out of their ass about the evil gun as a distraction.

Looking at the new proposed 2015/2016 Assault Weapons bill, the Ruger Mini 14 is now included. Even guns designed to comply with the last ASW, the Keltec SU16, HiPoint carbines, and even the AK semi auto shotguns. Seems they are throwing a wide net.

I think only the "tactical" Mini-14 is included, as before. I'm not clarifying further. As you said, it's a wider net. They want to go after a lot of AR based rifles that shoot 7.62x39. They also are going after a lot of 308 semiautomatics in this list. SCARs are targeted too. There are notable misses, but not going to help them out.

How about the government mass shooting - Branch Davidian / Waco standoff where 71 suvilians were killed? It's funny the Government induced mass shooting never make it on that list !

making comparisons isn't going to make that much of a differences of the minds that are already made up. Showing and educating others that law biding citizens are using these weapons in responsible and legal ways. You got to teach and educate what is what cause if you don't, then what are we fighting for? trying to keep things a "secret" because you think they might not know better? pfft

Said in another tread 300,000 people in Connecticut Did not register their so called assault rifles and are now felons. It's estimated that in NY state 800,000 did not. ( safe act) So are they going to prison? Re-education fema camps? Heck that was two liberal states.

Holy cow. 300,000 and 800,000 UNregistered assault rifles of mass destruction of war? I am going nowhere near those 2 states. Must be a waste land of death and destruction. Murder everywhere. Like Mad Max. I am going to have a sit in, here on my couch in protest.

CA legislators have been trying to ban 10/22's since 2013

They're eventually going to figure it out if they haven't already. They probably already have, but they also know that if they were consistent in their argument and insisted on the Mini14, 10/22, semi handguns, there would be too big a backlash. It's almost a kabuki dance; both sides are playing it. And boiling frogs. They're going to take a little at a time. When a Mini14 or 10/22 is the only thing left, and it's used in a mass shooting, that's when they'll go after them, too.

Note Sen Leland Yee just sentenced for gun-smuggling...
