I’m currently looking into building an AR and have a question. I know the lower is regulated and must be transferred through a FFL, but what about the rest of the parts? Can I purchase everything else, including a complete upper, from an online vendor and have it shipped directly to my house? I know Maryland laws are hard to understand at times and just wanted to verify before I got too far into this and found out otherwise.

the only other thing things that could require further FFL involvement is if you decide to go SBR or Suppressor on your build.

Remember the golden rule: "Buy once, cry once".

I like the idea of building rifles, because I can buy the good parts when I can afford them. Maybe eventually I'll actually start and finish a build... :D
