AR and AK range ammo

What is the least expensive range ammo that is not steel cased(Wolf/Tula/Brown Bear) that most ranges will let you use? I can't shoot my AR and AK at Heritage.

Ar appropriate ammo for indoor range will be generally cheaper than Ak

Red army and its very rare to find the ukrainian wolf ammo with copper jacket.

Iron Curtain firearms were weaned on corrosive ammo.

Wolf gold is non magnetic.

Good luck finding non magnetic 7.62x39. And it's pretty expensive if you can locate some.


EDIT: Yes, that Yugo stuff is pretty cheap, you just have to clean good after using it. I was thinking non corrosive

Almost anything brass cased is also non-magnetic as far as .223/5.56 goes. An exception is Herters. AFAIK ALL of their ammo is brass cased and bimetallic bullets.

Wolf Gold is decent and non steel in it. Federal can sometimes be inexpensive when on sale. IMI, PMC Bronze, PPU (Prvi Partizan), Magtech and Sellier and Bellot all make decent gilded metal jacketed ammo with brass cases.

Most can be found for 30-35 cents per round on sale somewhere. Sometimes a little less with good deals.

AK ammo, as mentioned, good luck. I’ve rarely seen it for less than 50 cents a round. I think PPU makes some in the 40 cent per round range for 7.62x39. Not sure on 5.45x39

Grace are good folks. Looks like S&B, PPU and Fiocchi brass cased, brass Buket ammo in 7.62x39 is about $11 for 20 round boxes. You could also try SGAmmo to see what kind of deals they have.

Might want to avoid Target Sports at the moment. I ordered a case of .223 15 days ago, and they still have not even shipped it. I called a couple days ago, and they tried to blame it on Thanksgiving. Said that I should have the tracking info by Monday night. Still nothing.
