When you first pulled up on the MSP portal and it shows your acceptance date, will that change to the new status once it moves on the next step? Or do I have to keep downloading the PDF files?

I’m my case the dashboard changed from accepted to assigned to investigator about the same time I got the NICS number and NICS date change. I also got an email saying assigned to investigator. YMMV.

You shouldn't have to DL anything, i just hit print and closed it when i was waiting for my NICS.

You may or may not be assigned an investigator. I was not and my app still says accepted. Neither one has an affect on the speediness of getting approved unless you answered yes to any of the questions on the app.
