These numbers are noisy and/or hairy, so I'm not confident at all in their accuracy. However, it gives us a rough picture of approval rates on a given day. I'm just taking permit numbers from one date and subtracting it from permit numbers from another date to get a ballpark number. As we get more data, the noise/hair factor should calm down.

Overall, they appear to be averaging ~195 approvals/day. In the last seven days, they have averaged ~285/day.

The short term rate will have more noise than the overall rate. Even if the short term rate is off by 2x, they're approving less than 600 apps/day. As I understand, they are receiving well more than 1,000 per day most days, if not all.

As of 8/3, MSP told us that they had received 25,403 applications in the six weeks since Bruen. That's some 605 applications/day to that point, and we're pretty sure the rate more than doubled in some days since then.

Good Morning,
Forgive me, but I cant find the answer on this or other threads.
I am awaiting my W&C permit, but I also need an HQL(Last handgun purchase was in 2013 just before HQL were required).
I understand (I think) that my HQL will be included in my W&C permit approval, so I do not need to apply for an HQL on the MSP licensing portal? When my W&C permit is in hand, will I be covered to make a purchase?

If you have received your permit since the beginning of July, and you are willing to share most of your permit number, please sound off again in this thread. Please post something like @Jake4now did above: 22HGP-0519xx.

I'm going to start tracking pace of approvals throughout the history of data that we have to try to get a handle of number of apps MSP has received and try to extrapolate approval dates. Please feel free to leave off the last two digits of your permit number.
