Application has been approved.

The review of your Handgun Permit application, ############, has been completed by Maryland State Police, Licensing Division. You will receive written notification of the disposition via the United States Postal Service within 5-7 business days.

Now I wait and see. I do not want to celebrate until I have the License in my hands.

Never recieved investigator email. Went from accepted to approved.

On a side note. The permit numbers assisned between him and I over two weeks is 2,343

If you have a common name like I do and/or it's the same as a prohibited person in the system expect it to take longer than normal. I can include SSN, copies of my current permits, etc. and it's still an unusual delay. No matter how advanced the technology is people will still be people.

Being a Polack I don’t have that problem…. sometimes it has its advantages

You'd be suprised. I have a fairly uncommon German surname. Still there is some troubled 'ute in Baltimore with a rap sheet and the same first and last name apparently (no relation and different middle names). I always use my SS# for anything gun related to minimize the confusion.

The constant seems to be the date accepted not the NICS. Today’s approvals have been those that were accepted on 7/14. To,orrows will be the ones accepted on the 15th if the trend continues.

From what I can tell here and other threads, no approvals on weekends.
