I love the SS S&W, but dont you think thats kinda high for a 1006? looking at closed listings, looks like they can be had from 550-650 for lnib ones.

I haven't seen a 1006 in any condition for 500-600 in a long time. Some of the NIB ones have been 800-1000. Considering no fees, next day shipping it isn't bad. I have searched forever for one at what I wanted to pay (700) and just could never hit it. I would watch auctions and they would be like 720 or more. I said just go for it this time and get a NIB unregistered or fired unit. Their are only so many 10mm offerings and this is one of the best from what I have seen.

The Dan Wesson Razorback is hard to beat for $1100 in the 1911 arena. Many say it has better fit and finish than the big names. I kind of agree!

You can buy that right now for 1695.00 plus 30 shipping. I had no idea Dan Wesson Razorback would cost that much.

That's another one I got lucky on. I bought mine for $1100 and change and soon after they were gone. Now you want one that's the price.

What were the conditions of them? Any scars, issues, etc...? Any of them new.

    I bought on Gunbroker:

Witness Match new $509. Zero issues of course.

Witness Hunter used $800. Had a cracked grip panel I was told would be okay because it was glued together. Broke first outing so $100 pair of Henning aluminum grip panels. It did come with a new Henning fiber front sight that was never installed. All in all good deal.

S&W 22A-1 was supposedly new for $330. When I got it it was obvious it had been used. He refunded $30 of my money so still a little more than what I should have paid for used.

Ruger Redhawk used for $500. Wouldn't shoot straight and ran out of sight adjustment. Sent into Ruger and after a process of barrel swaps, etc... they found the frame was bent. They issued me a NIB 2012 model (old one was a 82) but I had to pay shipping to plus FFL fees to register the new one. Total cost was about $630 which is still cheaper than one new but the hassle of it all!

Mosin Nagant Sporterized $160. First time to the range it wouldn't load right. Brought it home and found they didn't clearance the Monte Carlo stock right. Didn't cost anything but 45 minutes Dremeling and sanding the stock inside.

Dan Wesson Razorback new $1100. Zero issues of course.

Witness Polymer 10mm used $350. Ended up trading it towards my GP100 at a gun store. No matter what I tried it wouldn't run right. I think it had many parts that were wore out like springs. Worst deal on Broker ever!

Bersa 9mm Ultra Compact new $360. Zero issues of course.

    S&W 1006 new $795. I sure hope no issues!

All used. The only blemish was some scratched on the 1006 near the slide stop. It looks fine besides that. I put a new recoil spring in the 1026. They all shoot great. Best built 10mm guns I've seen. Built like tanks, all of them.

You did good then. I haven't really saw any 1006's used without some uglies for $650 these days. Most are $700 used with a scratch or two. Think my deal was decent? If it saves me any headaches it's hard to put a price on that :party29:

Thanks for that. I searched about every two days on there in hopes of getting a 1006 for $700 or a little under but it never happened. I would put them on watch and they would be in the $720 range when sold. I figured just go for it on the NIB deal since it wasn't much more. I needed it like a hole in the head but since it's my favorite caliber I just had to! It's one of the 10's all 10mm owners want one of. I thought about a 610 for a long time but the price and dealing with the moon clips made me just go a revolver round .44 Magnum. No regrets there.
