I'm looking to put a new set of sights on my Diamondback DB9 pistol. I want a large orange with a night sight vile in front and a plain rear sight. Ameriglo has one that fits the bill but I have never used them. Most of my sights are Truglo or Hiviz and lately, Truglo's night sights are not lasting too long.

Our department sites are the Ameriglo Bold and I really like them. I have them on my personal 43X and on my wife's gun as well. The front site is a nice orange during the day, really easy to pick up, and a nice glowing green in low light situations.

My Bluelabel G17 came w/Ameriglo bold -- I'd echo spoon059 comments above. In the training environments under outdoor and variable lighting conditions vs. my Hk's Truglo's -- I do a better job of quicker POA target acquisition w/the Amariglo... just plain easier to see. I'm 62 w/dodgy vision--

Our agency also went with orange/green Ameriglo sights on our G19s. They've been on for a couple of years now through lots of classes/quals and daily carry. Zero issues and I *really* like them as far as irons go. No issues with visibility at all and a huge step up from stock (particularly for older eyes).

Ameriglo works. I have trijicons in several of my own and like them but when setting up two glocks for my best friend, we went with ameriglo hackathon sights for the bright orange front in daylight and green dot in low light. Blacked out rear.

Yup, that's the set I want. I don't use the rear sight in close quarters anyway.

Hahaha. Out to around ten yards, on a BC zone, don't need sights. I tested both glocks when I set them up. The sights come up fast. Definitely not the choice for target work but the orange front really draws the eye.

I set him up with the hackathorn sights because he is in a wheelchair and has some control issues. He can use the rear sights against any hardpoint on the chair to cycle the slide. I also added a 1.5" strip of tread tape as wide as the slide crown to the top of each gun.

If you like a U notch instead of a square bottom, look at the trijicon HDs. They have rear tritium vials but no daylight "dots" in the rear. Color surrounded tritium vial up front. Mine are orange front.
