I heard a rumor about an all ladies shooting match in Anne Arundel county. If anyone here at MD Shooters knows of this I would love to pass on the details. Thank you everyone! :D

You may have heard about the women shooters IDPA match scheduled for September 29 at Anne Arundel Fish and Game (AAFG), a gun club in Annapolis. We run all women matches every quarter. These matches are run by experienced women shooters who are qualified as IDPA Safety Officers. Here is the text of the match announcement we sent last week to our shooters:

Building on the success of the Women Shooters IDPA matches in April and June, there will be a Women Shooter's IDPA Match on Saturday, September 29 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on the Action Pistol Range. Three of the instructors from our last match, Cindi, Rachael and Debi are returning as coaches and safety officers.

Beginner, novice and experienced women shooters are encouraged to attend. The planned course of fire will include six scenario stages with a minimum round count of 72 rounds. You will probably shoot more than 100 rounds in this match, so bring plenty of ammunition.

The match fee will be $10 for AAFG members or family, and $20 for those not affiliated with AAFG. Registration will start at 9 AM in the club house on the 16th. Club member and IDPA shooter Jacque Blundell will be cooking breakfast in the clubhouse on the 29th starting at 8:30 AM, for $5 per person.

This is an IDPA match. In it the shooter uses a service pistol, draws from holster, uses cover, and engages targets while maneuvering. It is an instructional match in which novice shooters are welcome. Participants in these matches run the gamut from women who are shooting in an action pistol match for the first time to highly skilled competitors who beat most of the men at our regular matches.

We have room for a few more shooters on the match roster. Please email aafgidpa-owner@yahoogroups.com to sign up for the match and breakfast.
