Ak Mag Issues

Hey, everyone. I have an ak sbr that I built from a romanian parts kit. I also have what I believe to be a romanian mag, but the mag just doesn't feed right. When I manually cycle the gun it functions flawlessly, but as soon as I start actually shooting it, it jams up. It only happens with the romanian ones. I have a magpul and random steel mag that feed and function perfectly. I look forward to hearing any suggestions on how to correct the issue

Weak mag spring is usually the cause. Try swapping it out with one from a good mag to see if that fixes it.

Use Magpul and Radom mags .

Mags are disposable. Quit using the one that doesn’t work and trash it so it doesn’t get into the mix. Replace with new

If I read right, he is having issues with ALL Romanian ones. It could be that the mag catch is slightly diff on them and affects the angle ever so slightly that you cant see it.

If this is the case, Wolff gunsprings can hook you up inexpensively.

I will definitely try replacing the spring! As for getting rid of it, I'm too stubborn and will probably try to keep fixing it lol. I have two identical Romanian mags and it does happen for both, so dieselfarmboy might be on to something! Thanks for all the input!

Is it trying to load the next round or getting stuck before that?

It ejects fine, but as the bolt goes forward, it gets caught on the new round and just jams up.

Are those hollow points? Does that front part of the follower seem to sink forward or does it kinda follow the magazine down?

Those are hollow points in the pic, but it happens with fmj as well
