I ended up getting my 7mm out of storage and cycling every round in the can. Anything that wouldnt cycle I deemed to be 8mm.

Thanks eveybody for your responses! Well the rounds that wouldnt cycle all appear to be the same. Ill try the bore method mentioned above.

As someone who sells and services precision balances for a living, this is my go-to solution. Better balances will have a check weighing function where you can program them for a go, no-go range. Anything that falls within the programmed tolerances gets an "OK" or green light. Makes it fast and easy to sort.

Maybe ill take the ammo to my gun store and ask them to sort it. I am pretty sure its 90 percent 7mm ammo i bought at a gun show 10 or more years ago.
Get a 7mm ammo checker. You are talking like $20.

If it fits in the ammo checker, then it is 7mm. If it doesn't, it is 8mm.

Or as mentioned, visually the difference is fairly clear.

The head stamps should also clue you in.
