Dicks has one on sale for $229.99 and I have a $20 off $100 they said they would accept making it $209.99+tax. Seems like a good price for a gun that seems real neat to me but somewhat of an impulse buy.

And as an aside, I sold my 10/22 in favor of my Remington 597 so I have those two out of my system.

Can anyone talk me out of it?

Do you expect us to say no? :) Just buy it. We're not talking big money.

Getting the 10/22 out of your system doesn't compute for me. I like having several.

I bought one a couple of years ago and it's a great shooter. Accurate out of the box. Easy to put together and break down. I believe it came with two magazines. It floats. If that's not enough to talk you out of it, I give up.

Well I guess I'll be the one. They are better in concept than practice. I've shot and played with several.
They tend to be ammo sensitive -piss poor characteristic for a survival rifle.
I've never found them to be all that accurate.
    The sights suck.
I tested the floating thing. They don't float indefinitely. The way the stock is set up after a minute or so it starts to fil with water and sink. It floats enough that you might be able to retrieve it if dropped overboard but I think it's overstated.

This is extremely accurate. I have worked on many and my some has one. Its not worth more than $100.00 IMO.

If you want one of the best tactical .22s get a S&W 15-22.

Cool concept, many manufacturers over the years. I don't think anyone has been able to make one that works reliably.

They have a horrible, horrible reputation for being total jamomatics.

It is a damn shame, and I do not know why someone can't make a decent version.

There is better stuff out there but for $2 bills get it for kicks and giggles.

Most I have handled ran well enough on decent .22 ammo.

So far I love it, we'll see how it performs at the range.
