AA County Gun Violence Task Force: Meeting Update

The problem with this task force is that they appear to have an unstated foundation that to end gun violence requires a reduction of and eventual end to gun ownership.

If the problem is defined as "gun violence", eliminating guns would be the logical conclusion to end it. No guns, no gun violence, just as surgical removal of everyone's heart would end the scourge of heart disease, while not actually improving anyone's overall health.

But if the issue is more accurately defined as "criminal violence", or just "violence", then lawful, individual gun possession is component of the solution, rather than the locus of the problem.

All one needs to do is look at the membership of the group to make this deduction. Oh yes, and the rationale for Mr. Pittman denying a seat at the table to other points of view due to it requiring a change to his own executive order is laughable. The task force's report has already been written and is ready for release. All you need to do is look to Bloomberg's propaganda to find its sources.

They had representatives from the Fire and Police department at the meeting I attended. The Chief of Police showed up himself.

The AA Fire Chief and AA Police Chief are listed on the membership as well as a Lt from the Sheriff’s office. I’m not sure if they show up or not though. I’m planning on going this week so I will have more of an understanding of this group

Annapolis is the county seat of AA County. The “Task Force” refuses to include it’s Police Chief and Fire Chief. But a MOMs “volunteer” is? Sorry for the copy. And like someone else posted...because it would require a change to the executive order that he made up! Just a worthless excuse.
