It looks like I never posted about my last addition so I’ll have to post about it here along with today’s additions.
Edit: It looks like I did post about this P320 just not in its own thread, so skip the next paragraph if you don’t want to hear about it again (though it did get some more upgrades).
In May I picked up a CPO Sig P320 full size in .40S&W, my main reasoning was the price was good and I had a $50 credit to the Sig store so I figured I would get a project gun and use the credit towards parts for it. I had shot my brothers 9mm P320 full size and knee a I hated the grip but love the grip module on my X-Carry so first thing I did was move everything to a X-Five full size module with grip weight and mag funnel. The mag funnel meant I needed to do something about the magazine base plates, so I picked up Hard Duty Use base plates from Gray Guns. It functioned fine but the X-Carry flat trigger ruined the factory trigger for me so I installed the Sig flat trigger. Then Flag Day happened and Gray Guns has a sale so it also got a Custom Fat Super Black Guide Rod installed.
The CPO P320 was such a good deal and was in great condition so I decided to pick up two more CPO pistols. I couldn’t decide between a P226 and a P229, I didn’t want to be second guessing a $900 purchase so I looked around and found a P229 in .40S&W and a P226 in .357 Sig. With shipping and transfer fee included I saved about $30 buying the two CPOs over buying one new.
My concern was that the 229 might be too short for a good grip or the 226 might be front heavy (which was one of my issues with the P320 originally). Turns out they both fit my hands perfectly, I can easily access the controls, and besides some slight wear on the slides and barrel hoods they seem pretty damn near perfect. Haven’t been to the range yet but I think I’ve made a mistake and will now have to buy both in 9mm instead of just one.
