9 inch AR pistol upper

So - I can not seem to find where just the 9 inch AR upper is legal to sell. While I have found the pistol is legal in MD.... I have not found where selling just the upper would be legal. Anyone have any idea?

It is legal(no, I don't have the siting to prove it). When shopping for the upper, most sellers will have a little disclaimer stating something to the fact that " all NFA regs. apply". Meaning, 'don't be stupid with this item or you could end up in jail. You are allowed to buy any length AR upper you like. You just can't apply it outside the law. Buy it, build your pistol, and have fun.

Sweet.... I thought it was legal (it was when I bought it a few years ago). Now I want to sell it because I just never use it.

Ar uppers are not regulated when sold as is
