Check a good manual. They will list total OAL of .380 All of mine are down stairs.

Who is the manufacturer of the bullet you are using to load your ammo?

Max is .984 per Sierra.

For their 90 grain JHP they say COAL.930. Not sure what bullet manufacturer you have.

Find out from the manufacturer what the OAL should be with the specific bullet you are using.

Wouldn't think the seating depth would be different between a JHP and a FMJ of the same weight. Both bullets will present the same jacketed side to the powder, and with the same weight.

I found an OAL of 0.970" on Hodgon's website for a 95gr FMJ bullet, 0.955" for a 90gr JHP. The different OAL's seem to be more based on the bullet weight rather than the tip.

Thank you, made sense when I thought about it. I rarely load HPs so I don't have too much experience with them.
