Recently picked up some 7.62 ammo.
It won't fit in my shellholder.
    I have a Lyman #2 for my 30.06 an 45
According to the charts the 308/7.62 uses the same holder.
It appears the rim is thicker than my 06 rims.
Do I need a different shellholder or will I need to modify one to work with the thicker rimmed military brass?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

I have the Lee shell holder and I've never had a problem with either 7.62/308 going into the shell holder. I wouldn't think the Lyman would be any different, but who knows.

OK, I will try another shell holder.
    Just wondering.
Having just gotten back into metallic reloading, where or who in the Hagerstown area has and sells reloading supplies and equipment?
All I have loaded for the past 20 years is shotgun loads.
    Thanks again,
    Jeff

Not sure about Hagerstown but overall things have been very hard to find lately. Seems to be slowly getting a bit better though. I do remember reading on another forum that somebody used a shell holder for a 6.5x55 swed for their difficult 7.62 brass. That may be something to look into.

Check out Hendershots. They are new in town(Hagerstown that is). They carry loading supplies ect......They should have what you need.Take one of cases with you just to make sure you have the correct shellholder.By the way......you sure the 7.62 is x51??? Is it possible you have 7.62x54 cases?
    Just wondering.........Hope that helps.
