Did any of our brethren and sistren in the Queer Community appear today? And does anyone know if they will appear with us and/or testify next Tuesday? Or any of our brethren and sistren from Black Guns Matter? It would be a powerful statement, IMO. As 2A advocates we are ALL in this fight for our civil rights together.

None of our Queer brothers or the sisters, at least not publicly outed, were standing with us today. Several of us have tried reaching out to this community and are consistently met with crickets.

The only thing we can do is to keep on trying. They are small fish in the big pond of social issue saviors, but they also see themselves being put in the 'ignore them until we need their vote' category much like MANY blacks and legal immigrants who woke up last November and switched sides. When encountering those who can't seem to break free from their social bonds, ask them what do they have to lose ... or gain by joining the side that REALLY cares about their rights and their ability to protect them.

Today was my first rally and I sure am glad I came out.
I found my way to lawyer's mall and met some great people who showed me around, gave me a sign to hold and had a great experience greeting lawmakers and staff as they walked by.
