I submitted evidence of my Maryland CCW course, which had a 300 round shooting component, with a 25 shot test.
A Milton Agurs, who appears to me a civilian employee, informed me that my MD course is not sufficient, because the TESTING portion (25 shot test that is reported to MSP), is only 25 rounds. He is suggesting that a test has to be 50 rounds.
Looks like I will have to take the dame course.
Odd. They accepted my MD training back in '15 with only a 25 rd course of fire.
Yep, original DC law requires 50 rounds. Also in DCMR.
.
I think the kicker is “qualification course” consisting of 50 rounds. That seems to mean the actual test
Firearms have to be on the CA, MD or MA handgun Roster
I was referring to long guns. Long guns don't need to be on any roster. As far as I can tell you can build your own mini 14 ranch or 10/22 no thumbstock or grip below the action from an 80% and register it in DC if you serialize it as.That’s why I used commas and the word OR
Long gun probably as long as it does not have certain attributes (ie ar-15 from 80%, no; mini 14 probably ok), handgun no. As far as possession of 80% or less of handgun or prohibited long gun legally you maybe ok, BUT they might well put you through the ringer on constructive possession. Ie if you had something like an Ares SCR which is AR-15 upper, AR barrel, at mags and legal in DC, having an 80% or less AR lower possessed within DC at the same time something I would not do. In terms of bringing an 80%t above 80%, technically, if you submitted and passed your own personal build to one of the roster authorities, and also had it serialized, and registered it that might be within the regsHas anyone tried to register a 80%?
Just for precision, handguns have to be on one of the three rosters.
So handgun conceptually is presumed not allowed unless specifically put on a roster.
But long guns are kind of the opposite: presumed allowed except specific models and attributes.

You specifically said handguns. Which is why I used the word OR and not AND.
Just saying
Chrissie Hynde approves of this post.
Got brass, in pocket ? Gets you the cuffs.
In any event, I signed up for a course in early January. Seems surprisingly cheap, at $200.
My third application was submitted on 10/23. Crickets since.
Yes, denied twice before for lack of "good reason".
