Has anyone looked in to this caliber in the AR platform yet? From what I have read so far it looks like a flat shooting deer capable round. I still have a pre 10/13 lower to build out and wanted a hunting round for longer distance shooting than the 300.

Sharps makes a barrel. I am surprised that a 6x45 has never really taken off. There seems to be more interest in the 6mmAR, which is based off the 6.5 grendel case

Pretty much what Big Daddy said. The 6x45 is a good ctg , and *ought to* have cought on big time. The .25-45. Should have very similary performance, and would be a coin toss for a mid bore of .223 case size. But as Big Daddy also noted most curent mid bore instrest if for larger case sizes. There are a metric zillion wildcats based on 6.5 and 6.8 cses with minor variations of neck & shoulders , plus the Grendel & SPC themselves. With none of them having any dominance.
