I have a friend who wants to sell me a Marlin 882 stainless with synthetic stock. He said its like new, barely shot, if ever. Well, a 22 mag aint what I really want, but I am wondering what I could get out of it? I'd like to turn it for either a 10/22 or a 17 HMR. Then again, are they pretty good rifles, to where I should just keep it? How he got it was he met a lady who has a massive collection that her father had before he passed. He had Piles of pistols, rifles. Anyways, I can pick the magnum up for 100 bucks....Worth buying to flip for what I want, or should I consider keeping it?

I would keep it myself. I have a marlin 882 blued, 2 remington 597's one with a bull barrel and one with a regular barrel. All are good shooters. You could also buy it and flip it and make 50 or 75 bucks.
