KnowNothing
I can see you are very passionate about this but have a hard time understanding how you can blame a few small time entrepreneurs for the collapse of a sport. I would tend to think that the shortage of 22 lr (perceived lack of supply) should really be attributed to the excessive demand caused by those whose hoard.
You see, it is those who buy all of the 22 lr, from both the retailers and the resellers alike, who are really making it tough for the recreational shooter to get their hands on it. Even still, who are we (you, me, or anyone else) to tell anyone what they can buy, sell, trade, hoard, etc. This is America for Christ Sake!!!
In the end, I would only ask you to think about one thing. If reselling ammunition were to become illegal tomorrow and everyone who does it were to cease immediately, do you believe the shelves at your local and/or online retailer would start to fill up with and maintain a level of 22 lr such that you could walk in or log on and purchase a brick at 2 in afternoon on any given day?
If you answer no to that question, then you would agree that resellers really have nothing to do with the perceived shortage and that the 22 lr would still disappear as soon as it hit the shelves because the demand is so high. If you answer yes, well then I will just keep my opinions to myself. Either way, you probably shouldn't drag the mods into it as they have nothing to do with it.
