My take on things.... I'd say things are almost back to normal now... you can regularly find .22lr (although .22 shot is still hens teeth) in fairly decent quantities and varieties. Prices are still about 20-30% over what they were pre-Sandy Hook, but nowhere near the 300-500% gouging that we saw at the height of the drought.

I agree with your assessment. Key word here is "almost". When everyone stops talking about it then it's over.

Was at Dick's in Frederick on Monday, and they had an entire shelf of Federal and CCI 22LR, as well as 10x Bucket O' Bullets behind the counter. It was encouraging to see.

Walmart in Ellicott City (Ridge Rd) had Federal Auto Match (325 rnd) for $17.42 ea. They've had this for a while. They had Remington too for a while, but were sold out as of last night. It looks like they may be getting regularly stocked...

Field & Stream has Remington Bucket O' Bullets for $79.99. For 1400 rounds that's $0 06 cpr. Closest one is Camp Hill. There's lots more ammo on sale as well and a flyer sale good through 722, may be worth the drive.

I agree, .22 is easy to find for those that look for it. I made this comment many months ago as well. However threads never die because post counts don't either.

On the way back from Philly yesterday, I stopped at Cabela's in Christiana, DE. It was hugely gratifying to see full shelves of rimfire ammunition, virtually every type. It's been about 3 months since I last visited that store and the availability is much improved. The prices are far from the days of yore, but down from the peak. A few bulk packs came home with me, along with a couple of their $55 flats of shotgun target loads.

I have to force myself not to take that exit when I go to visit my son in PA. I could go broke in that store. That's like my candy store. I want everything I see.

It is a great place to shop!

Yeah, I love going up there a couple of times a year. I generally limit myself to whatever $100-200 worth of gift cards will buy me. A few magazines, some ammo and some ogling of the used guns. Next trip I am planning on a Ruger American rimfire.

whats M-22 going for these days at walmart?

I found it at a different place the other day for 50 dollars for the 1,000 rounds but was curious how inline pricing was with walmart

Haven't seen it at any Walmarts in quite a while.

I did just see Fed Automatch 325's for $17.xx and Fed 550's for $22.xx.
