I just bought my first 1911 this past week. I have no idea where the interest came from, but almost overnight I left the AR platform long enough to pick one of these up and I have to say, now I "Get It". I can hear my dad giving me the lecture about "tactical", "it won't fire underwater", etc etc but holding a 1911 is an experience in itself. I guess its fitting being its 100 years old this year, but I'll post some pics of mine after making a few mods to it.

    Pink you say? :D
It's not a 1911, but I bought this Sig for the wife for her birthday. (shhhhhh.... don't tell!)
If she does well with this, a 1911 could be next!

Wayne, that has got to be one of the sexiest 1911's in this thread. Those grips REALLy set it off.

Thanks unspoken, you might want to checkout the SS Loaded models or the new R/O (Range Officer) model. I am sure you will like. In addition I have never experienced a malfunction or any sort of hiccup out of this pistol. :)

I was considering a base model Springfield, and going from there! These porn threads always make me want a new gun! If I were to get a 1911, Springfield would be high on the list!

    EDIT: 500th post :D

Other than the sti shortblock does anyone else sell a frame with a full lenght dust cover? I love the look of the full length cover on the sti but not the price.

Springfield 1911-A1, other than the Crimson Trace Lasergrips(highly recommended:thumbsup:) there's not really any other modern bells and whistles on this classic full size mil-spec model...
